Professional Experiences and Plans
Self-reflective description of previous and current teaching/counseling/ leadership activities
I began teaching in Prince Georges County Public Schools in 2004, with placement assistance and training from Transition to Teaching at Howard University.
During my first year in the county, I worked as a general educator in the fifth grade, and as the coordinator for the school's Drama Club. The following year, I worked as a general educator in the first grade, and participated in the School Planning Team. My third year, I once again taught first grade, and served as the school's representative to the Union. Afterwards, I was the Social Studies Chair at a different school, and was also a member of the School Planning and Management Team. I, again, taught first grade that year.
Since 2008, I have worked as my school's Technology Coordinator, while also teaching computer classes for grades three through eighth (2008-2011), and English for grade two (2008) and middle school (present). In addition, I conduct technological professional development after school for educators in conjunction with my school system, and do middle school scheduling during the summer.

List of competencies for which additional preparation is needed
Prior to beginning work on my dissertation, I hope to gain even more professional experience. Given the topic of study, I feel that working at my current school, in a Francophone environment, will continue to shed light on the phenomenon of students' second-language acquisition.
Description of planned future professional activities
In the immediate future, I anticipate continuing to work at my current French immersion-model school and teaching staff development courses as requested.
