Conceptual Framework
Portfolio Two
Through my coursework and experience at George Mason, I have revised the metaphoric pictorial representation of my framework to that of a cassette tape recorder. Both figuratively and literally, a recorder accurately captures the thoughts of the user, and is later used to share the information. Sometimes this information is broadcasted to the masses; sometimes it is a personal reminder of things to do. I intend to do both with the research that I collect in my experience at George Mason. While I hope to publish soon, I also plan to use my accumulated knowledge to enact change by mobilizing others (see below). Ultimately, I want to create a nonprofit organization to help alleviate the challenges faced by Haitian youth when entering public school systems in the United States, the topic of my forthcoming dissertation. In said dissertation, I will draw upon the work of several researchers, particularly from the field of Second Language Acquisition, to guide my research. I am eagerly anticipating the next stages of the program.

Portfolio One
Leadership is like a spider web, because people must be united in order to be mobilized towards a vision. A leader is a person who has a vision, embodies passion, and is able to mobilize others towards a common goal. A leader must be respectful, and must always be guided by a strong moral compass. Leaders must be knowledgeable about their field, confident in their abilities, and have the strength to make hard decisions when necessary.
